Salaam Said Salim Al Shaksy - Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Salaam Said Salim Al Shaksy is the chief executive officer of National Bank of Oman (NBO), effective March 17, 2010.Al Shaksy, 49, will lead, direct and manage NBO strategic directions to grow and transform the bank while focusing on innovative business goals.

His career with the banking industry began in 1992 when he joined Citibank Global Consumer Business, Dubai. Thereafter he moved to NBO. In NBO, he continued to expand his experience and knowledge of the industry whilst working in senior positions as Assistant General Manager - Retail Banking, and prior to his departure, as Deputy General Manager covering Retail Banking, Investment Banking and Correspondent Banking.

In 2000, Al Shaksy joined Majan International Bank as General Manager. He successfully managed the merger between Majan International Bank and Bank Dhofar which consequently led to his new position as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Bank Dhofar. Prior to joining NBO, Salaam worked in Dubai, as Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Islamic Investment Group and later between June 2008 and March 2010 as Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Banking Group and Dubai Bank.

His significant credentials include a B. A. Degree, Cum Laude from Boston University, a Master of Science, Honours in Management Information Systems, and an MBA, High Honours. He was named Best Banker of the Year by The Islamic Business & Finance Award 2008, Dubai.

Ahmed Al-Musalmi – Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Mr Ahmed Al-Musalmi is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of National Bank of Oman (NBO). Prior to his appointment, he was NBO's General Manager and Chief Operating Officer. Besides having worked earlier with NBO, for over 6 years, Al- Musalmi has also served in organizations such as Majan International Bank and National Bank of Abu Dhabi.

Al-Musalmi has more than 16 years of extensive hands-on experience in most areas of banking that include but not limited to Retail & Elite (Privilege) Banking, Corporate Banking, Operations Management, Trade Finance, Credit, Asset-Liability Management, Financial Control, Strategic & Business Planning, Budgeting, Financial & Market Analysis, Wealth Management, Project Management, Branch Banking and General Management.

Prior to moving to NBO, Al-Musalmi was the Deputy Country Manager Oman, at National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) where he was responsible for overall business activities including Treasury, Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, Elite Banking, Information Technology, Finance and Human Resources.

Al-Musalmi holds a Masters in Business Administration, with distinction, from University of Luton U.K. Al-Musalmi’s academic and professional qualifications also include International Diploma in Financial Services, Chartered Market Analyst with Financial Analyst Designate, Chartered Portfolio Manager and Chartered Wealth Manager. He is a fellow of American Academy of Financial Management-USA. Prior to joining NBO, Al-Musalmi attended an intensive High Performance Leadership Program with IMD-Switzerland.

Humayun Kabir - Chief Wholesale Banking Officer

Mr. Humayun Kabir joined the Bank in February 2008. He is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of wide-ranging experience of Banking & Financial Services with organizations like ABN Amro Bank Canada, Royal Bank of Canada, Saudi American Bank, Ernst & Young and Inforica Inc, Canada.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and holds an MBA in General Management from the University of Western Ontario, Canada.

Mr. Kabir is a Canadian National and was born in 1962.

Stephen Anthony Clayton - Chief Risk Officer

Mr. Stephen Anthony Clayton joined the Bank in June 2010 as General Manager - Chief Risk Officer. He has a B.A. (Hons) degree from University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. Stephen was the Chief Risk Officer at Saudi Hollandi Bank before his move to NBO. A seasoned banker with over 30 years experience, he has also held senior positions in HSBC, Saudi British Bank and Wells Fargo HSBC Trade Bank.

Mr Clayton was born in 1958.

Harshdeep Singh Munjal - General Manager – Chief Retail and Private Banking Officer

Mr. Harshdeep Singh Munjal, joined NBO in April 2011, as General Manager – Retail and Private Banking. Harsh has worked with NBO earlier, from 1998 to 2003, and was Deputy General Manager–Group Head - Retail and Private Banking, before moving to Bahrain.

Prior to re-joining NBO he was Head-Management and Strategy/Country Head-UAE, at National Bank of Bahrain. He first started his career with American Express Ltd. India, and then moved on to work with American Express Bank-USA, Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank , HDFC Bank Ltd. and Dubai Bank. Harsh has been a highly motivated and proactive member of senior management teams in the various organisations he has worked for, and has several key achievements to his credit. He is an MBA in Marketing and Finance, from The Peter F. Drucker Graduate Management Centre, Claremont, California, with over 24 years of extensive banking experience.
